Thread angle

The angle of a thread on a screw shaft is the difference between the 2 sides of the thread. Threads that are unified have a 60 degree angle. Screws have 2 parts: a major diameter, also known as the screw's outside diameter, and a minor diameter, or the screw's root diameter. A screw or nut has a major diameter and a minor diameter. Each has its own angle, but they all have 1 thing in common - the angle of thread is measured perpendicularly to the screw's axis.
The pitch of a screw depends on the helix angle of the thread.
